now that hd dvd is dead i have no choice but to buy a blu ray player though i do not see a 720p blu player anywhere…will the 1080 ones work with my tv ???

I want to know the best way to connect for optimum picture. Should I connect through component or HDMI ports? Will I need HDMI primarily for Blu-ray? I’m wondering because I don’t have a 1080p TV. Will component cables be sufficient since I have a lower resolution?

Hi I bought a 52″Sony Bravia HDTV LCD 1080P 120Hz & PS3 console. I also bought a Belkin HDMI cable to connect my PS3 console & the back of my HDTV & finally I bought 2 Blu-ray movies. When I connect everything, I went to my PS3 settings & setup up my display to 1080P & I also program my HDTV to 16:9 Full Pixel. I also ahve change the Picture Settings to have a good picture.

So my question is in my good? Because if I have the correct settings then why my Sony HDTV picture doesn’t have that crystal clear picture then the Bestbuy store? Dont’ get me wrong I do have a clear nice picture but not so good compare to Bestbuy & I bought my Sony Bravia @ Amazon & yes I bought it brand new. Thank you.

Hi you should keep your Samsung because you could have use it for Blu-ray movies. Anyway I use to buy Monster HDMI cable & I took it back because is over price & there is no difference between Monster & other brands.

I was thinking about getting a Blu ray player.. But, I’m still having second thoughts. DVDs are still selling, although eventually they will stop..

Also, would a blu ray player work on a regular TV? I’m planning on getting an HDTV when I move..

using only a hdmi wire. My tv speakers recently went out, and although I still like the picture (wish the tv was bigger) Best buy said I didnt have outputs on my tv to run thru hdmi. IS there a way arround this? If not what is best tv for 1000 dollars for my x box and maybe blu ray. I dont watch cable or satellite.
